The Glow and The Gloom

Did I mention that I love Mighty Movie Mondays at Kent Plaza Theaters? Well I can’t say it enough. Today it was all about the brightness and the darkness. The light movie was Mamma Mia!. First off I didn’t think a musical based on the music of ABBA would work. That being said I was surprised by this movie. There is something really infectious about ABBA’s music. You can try to hate it all you want, but it ends up putting a smile on your face. It was only the 4:45pm showing and it was packed. I found myself surrounded by a sea of silver hair and I was the only man. Good grief! But all that aside, it was a fun movie. It almost looks like it didn’t take place in this dimension. The dark movie was The X-Files: I Want to Believe. As a fan of the X-File, it felt like old times. I remember Friday nights, going to High School football, the smell of fall, and coming home to watch the X-Files. Watching the movie felt like talking to an old friend; you haven’t see each other in a while, but nothing has changed. I enjoyed it a lot (It makes me want to go out and get all the seasons on DVD).

Sorry I could not come to your rescue in the sea of silver. LOL
But alas I will be going alone to see it too. Maybe I will wear a wig to fit in.
