THE ZOO

I went to the Akron Zoo. Instead of going on and on about the things I saw there I'll let the pictures speak for me.

MAY IS ONE DAMN FINE MONTH.....

I kinda fell behind......so here it is all at once. Enjoy!

TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME
It rained….alot. And then it rained some more. We lost the game, but it was a great time watching it happen with my dad.

AND SO IT BEGINS

Every Saturday the goal is to go bike riding up and down the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath.

MAY 4th

Every year, I go to the May 4th memorial to place rocks at the markers of the 4 that died. The Jewish custom is not to bring flowers to the graves, but instead to place a simple stone on the gravestone itself, as a sign that you were there. The remembrance of this day is a hope that is will never happen again. So I go to help, to remember and to pay my respects.

MOTHER

Mother’s day was very nice…..good food and good time spent with my mom. She carried me for a little less than 9 months, but has loved me my whole life. Here is to being a mom for 29 years.

BOLDLY GO

I also drove up to Mentor for the first time ever (a very long story) to see Star Trek with my mom. We both loved it. I wanted to hate this film, but was very impressed by what was there. Also mallards have made their home in my parent’s pool.

MEMORIAL DAY

Nothing like a beautiful sunny day to reflect on things. I spent the day with my parents at a baseball game and then took in a movie at the Midway Drive-in.

IMPROMPTU WEDNESDAY

It was my day to go with the flow and see where it took me. The only thing set in stone was the way it began; lunch with my good friend Nate. Who suggested we go to get ice cream in Chagrin Falls. Where I ended up going a different way home. That took me by a movie theater I have never been at. It just happened to being playing Night at the Museum 2 and it started just as I got there. And for some reason the currents took me to Chapel Hill Mall just in time to see the front of a storm moving in. It was beautiful.

IN A WORLD……..
I also got to see the film UP. This movie did things movies are not supposed to do. And it did it in the first 5 mins of the film. I was emotional drained after watching it. It is too hard to explain in words, but this film touched me in a way that is so deep and profound, that I don’t think I will ever true be able to explain how good it was. It is something you just have to go to see for yourself. And please go to see it in 3D. I know it costs a few more bucks and you have to drive a little further to a theater that has it, but it is so worth it.

Oh and I got a toaster too!

AND SO BEINGS THE MONTH OF JUNE

What wonders await me in this month?? Who knows, but I welcome them open arms. I began it with a trip to the Akron Museum of Art and Chihuly’s first permanent outdoor sculpture. The Museum has a beautiful Sol LeWitt in the entrance hall. Its main exhibition was called William Wegman: Fay. The photographs on display were of Fay (his dog). My favorite photograph of them all was a portrait of the two of them. It made me cry. I'll try and find a copy of it for another post. After that I swung by Robert Smithson's Partially Buried Woodshed.

here it is.....

AND THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES…..
