The Promise

The Promise

by

Tracy Chapman

If you wait for me then I'll come for you

Although I've traveled far

I always hold a place for you in my heart

If you think of me If you miss me once in awhile

Then I'll return to you

I'll return and fill that space in your heart

Remembering

Your touch

Your kiss

Your warm embrace

I'll find my way back to you

If you'll be waiting

If you dream of me like I dream of you

In a place that's warm and dark

In a place where I can feel the beating of your heart

Remembering

Your touch

Your kiss

Your warm embrace

I'll find my way back to you

If you'll be waiting

I've longed for you and I have desired

To see your face your smile

To be with you wherever you are

Remembering

Your touch

Your kiss

Your warm embrace

I'll find my way back to you

Please say you'll be waiting

Together again

It would feel so good to be

In your arms

Where all my journeys end If you can make a promise

If it's one that you can keep, I vow to come for you

If you wait for me and say you'll hold

A place for me in your heart.

Odyssey

Sing in me, Muse, and through me tell the story
of that man skilled in all ways of contending,
the wanderer, harried for years on end,
after he plundered the stronghold on the proud height
of Troy.
- The Odyssey

I went on a journey today to Chapel Hill Mall to see a pair of films; The Reader and Frost/Nixon. Both were excellent films, so no worries there. I found myself deep in thought over the issues and subjects presented in the movies. More so than usual. It seems that most of the time movies try not to say a lot. I think the word is over simplification. But both these movies spoke volumes. The Reader surprised me in the fact that i saw the movie going one way and then it came at me from a new angle and in turn, I ended up enjoying it a lot more. Frost/Nixon was the battle royal of interviews. It was more like a boxing match minus the play by play. Check out both while you still can. After that I went for a walk home. I didn't get enough of a workout at the gym, so I made up for it by doing 15.61 miles on the odyssey home.

Try

Like a drunk an admitting he has a problem. I too am admitting that I need to learn how to drive. So for those of you out there that care......................I will need your help to stay focused. My goal is to be driving by the beginning of April, but. I believe that it is never to late to change things and that it will do me a lot of good.

LOve

I want her. I still desire her. she is as beautiful as the day i met her. and i feel like she doesn't love me anymore. anytime i try to get close to her she pushes me away. i feel as if its destroying my mind. the one thing i was ok with in life and its gone. i wish i could make everything ok..................wish i could take it back...........................start again

I hate myself

i thought by writing this out maybe i could make sense out of it all, but i don't think that will be the case. I don't know what has happened to make my life the way it is now, but i thought it was ok. not perfect but at least survivable. Some where along the way i lost the woman i love and i can't find her. she means everything to me, but i don't think she knows it. Knows how much i respect her for who she is and the hard work that she does. I want the world to know this, but then again.......................the world doesn't mean to much to me if she not there to help me understand it. there is much i need help understanding and i am always thankful that i have my friend to help. I hope maybe she will read this and know...and come back to me.

HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY

Windage
Your new official meteorological term of the day is windage. So says the members of the Inner Circle. I went to gobbler knob this morning with my brother and a friend of his.......................and I am about to pass out as I write this. I went straight from my hellish day at work to groundhog country (which is also apparently God's country or so the signs said; but I hear He is having boarder disputes over the territory). If you ever wanted to see thousands of people to gather from all over to cheer for a small rodent, then this is for you. Unfortunately Phil saw his shadow today declaring six more weeks of winter. I had a great time doing it and will try to be back next. And then I went to go see a movie...

GOT MILK
The Times of Harvey Milk. If you haven't seen this movie already, I urge you to go and see it. Of the movies nominated for best picture this year that I have seen this one is the best. It is truly a beautiful story about hope.
