You Gotta See This Video Wednesday

One of my friends clued me into this video. It took home first prize in the Online Short Film competition held in conjunction with the Cannes Film Festival last year.

Fresh Music Monday

Today's music is in honor of Ani DiFranco coming to the Kent Stage tomorrow.
I can't wait to see her.
Her music is just so beautiful!
I don't do it justice by writing about it.
The songs I picked out are all from the same album.
(So it must be really good!)
I'll be back tomorrow and let you know how the show was.
Till then, I hope you enjoy her music.

FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY

I spent today with my good friend Nate and his family; whom I haven't seen in some time.
He showed me the records scattered on the floor by his son and then asked me to take creative pictures of them.
We then set off for the Rocky River Reservation.
It was an inspirational wonderland.
I couldn't help but smile the whole time.
The last one is my favorite.
I ended the day by seeing Shutter Island.
Its a great film by the way!

Fresh Music Monday

I went to see the great new movie by Ethan Coen, Joel Coen. A Serious Man is one of their finest works. I put it up there with No Country for Old Men, The Big Lebowski and O Brother, Where Art Thou?. One thing about there movies that always stands out are the songs that are chosen to be in them and this film was no exception. Jefferson Airplane's music just felt at home in this movie. With songs like: Somebody to Love, Comin' Back to Me and Today; they helped to not only set the decade, but the mood as well.
If you can still see it in the theater, I urge you too.
So in honor of this great movie...

You Gotta See This Video Wednesday

One year ago today I was shown that some people aren't always who they seem to be.
But I was also shown how amazing the people that are truly my friends are.
I am glad I didn't give up. Its not everyday the world as you know it comes to an end.
But it is amazing that out of the ashes new wonders await.
Hope is pretty amazing too.

This is something I found the other day and thought it was worth passing along.
It made me smile...except for the ending where I was like "what?".

Fresh Music Monday

Do you ever just get a song stuck in your head and can’t get it out? Well I know someone who has had the same song stuck in her head forever. The same song! If there is a moment where she has to think of something to hum; the go to song is always the theme to the Banana Splits. So after three months of me realizing that this was going on with her. I came to an even bigger revelation. I couldn’t shake the feeling of hearing it somewhere else in my life. Some other music was calling out to me. And then it hit me after three months of racking my brains….it was Buffalo Soldier by Bob Marley. The theme to the Banana Splits was written for the The Banana Splits Adventure Hour that ran from September 7, 1968 to September 5, 1970. Buffalo Soldier was from Marley final recording sessions in 1980. So essentially Marley is quoting the chorus of the Banana Splits song (Tra La La) in the bridge of his own (Woy! Yoy! Yoy!).
If you have any good music that I have to hear, please share it with me.
Sharing music makes the world a better place.
As always...Enjoy!
